A 16-year old has drowned after falling into the sea near Kinsale, Co Cork.
The boy's body was taken from the sea at Scilly this morning after gardaí received a call at about 12.30 a.m.
The Courtmacsherry lifeboat and the fire service were called to locate the body. The youth, who has not been named, was pronounced dead at the scene. His remains were removed to Cork University Hospital.
It is believed the youth, who is from the Kinsale area, was with a group of young people when he accidentally fell into the sea.
