Southside lines from Grand Canal Dock to Greystones will be closed every weekend from now until May or June of next year.
The one exception will be the two Saturdays before Christmas, December 13th and December 20th, when DART trains will operate between Greystones and Dublin.
The schedule beyond the first phase of DART improvement project has yet to be confirmed - there will be weekend disruptions to the city centre and northside lines in the coming months as well.
TICKETING ISSUES
DART commuters with weekly, monthly or year-long tickets will be issued Dublin Bus tickets to make up for the lost service on weekends. Commuters will receive a Rambler ticket, which allows travel anywhere on the Dublin Bus network. Tickets are not confined to the Southside routes.
From now on, commuters will receive bus tickets at the time of the DART ticket purchase. A weekly ticket holder will receive two Dublin Bus tickets, and a monthly ticket holder will receive eight.
Commuters who already hold tickets for this week or this month will receive bus tickets on Thursday and Friday to make up for the weekend.
Iarnród Éireann will be contacting annual ticket holders to issue bus tickets.
Bus transfers will also operate on all weekend Arklow/Rosslare services between Dublin and Greystones.
The bus transfer for the commuter service is included in the price of the train ticket and no extra bus ticket will be issued.
