Weekend Travel

This weekend sees additional disruption to traffic with the Tall Ships' race into Dublin Port

This weekend sees additional disruption to traffic with the Tall Ships' race into Dublin Port. There will be road closures at Custom House Quay between Talbot Memorial Bridge and Commons Street, and between Butt Bridge and Memorial Bridge; at North Wall Quay; City Quay; Sir John Rogerson's Quay; Britain Quay; East Link Bridge; Forbes Street; and the south and north quays between O'Connell and Butt Bridges.

Traffic will be restricted entering the area, and parking will be prohibited at Fairview, Fairview Strand, North Strand, Amiens Street, Memorial Road, Moss Street, Pearse Street and Ringsend Road. Access to Dublin Port will be by Alfie Byrne Road and East Wall Road only.

Cross-city traffic, including to Dublin Airport, should be by the M50. There will be extreme congestion in the Croke Park area during the weekend, where, in addition to the disruption caused by the Tall Ships, there will be hurling and football semi-finals.

Roadworks will also contribute to the traffic problems in Dublin.
