Arsenal captain Patrick Vieira will be out of action for at least two weeks after aggravating an existing knee injury against Manchester United last night.
Vieira hobbled off after 34 minutes of the 2-2 draw at Highbury after aggravating his inflamed right knee joint in a challenge with Roy Keane.
"Patrick will definitely be out for two weeks but it is not necessarily the end of his season," manager Arsene Wenger told the club's official website.
"His knee is not as bad as we first thought but the doctors have advised him to take a complete rest for two weeks because his knee is inflamed."
Vieira will miss Saturday's league trip to Middlesbrough and the game at Bolton on April 26th. But he could be fit to return for the home clash with Leeds on May 4th.
Champions Arsenal trail United by three points with five games of their league campaign left and they are also through to the FA Cup final on May 17th where they face Southampton.
