UCD manager Paul Doolin is favourite to take over the manager's position at Drogheda United after Harry McCue was sacked by the board last night.
Other names in the frame include Damien Richardson, Noel King, and Roddy Collins, who was sacked by Carlisle United recently.
Drogheda have lost their last four games, and under-21 team manager John Carroll is likely to take temporary charge for tomorrow night's game against Waterford.
A short statement from Drogheda thanked McCue for his work at the club and said a shortlist of candidates for the position would be drawn up in the next few days.
