Tyrone 0-17 Derry 1-5
Tyrone needed a late equaliser last week to force today's Ulster Championship replay but refocused in the time between to come out and thump their bitter rivals at Casement Park and ease into next month's provincial semi-final.
The league champions started without the injured Stephen O'Neill and the suspended Gavin Devlin but encountered few problems against a weak Derry side that was without Kevin McGuckin due to a family bereavement.
Midfielder Sean Kavanagh - scorer of three points on the day - set the ball in motion after just 10 seconds when his unstoppable run upfield was rewarded with a fine point.
Tyrone, who will meet the winner of tomorrow's Antrim-Cavan clash in the semi-final, led 04-02 after 15 minutes with Peter Canavan adding three frees.
Paddy Bradley's long range free midway through the half was Derry's last score before the break. Kavanagh applied more pressure with two late points and Tyrone led by eight points at half-time (0-10 to 0-2).
Defenders Chris Lawn and Declan McCrossan found themselves on the score sheet after the restart and when Canavan scored his eight point in the 48th minute, Derry knew their destiny was with negotiating the tricky qualifiers path.
Derry substitute Geoffrey McGonigle goaled in the final minute but it was too little too late for Mickey Moran's side who had Padraig O'Kane sent off for a tackle on Cavanagh after 53 minutes.
