Mick O'Dwyer's new look Laois side has beaten All-Ireland champions Armagh by 1-14 - 1-11 in the National Football League Division One semi-final in Croke Park this afternoon.
Laois will now play Tyrone in the final after Peter Canavan inspired the defending Allianz Football league champions to a 4 - 11 - 1-11 victory over Fermanagh earlier today.
Four first half points from Tom Brewster meant Fermanagh led at the break by six points to five but seconds after the restart Canavan found the back of the net to turn the tie on its head.
Canavan rifled a shot off the underside of the crossbar to send Tyrone into the lead before Eoin Mulligan fisted the second minutes later.
Ryan Keenan finished with equal aplomb to keep Fermanagh in touch after just nine minutes of the second half but Canavan, not to be outdone, delicately chipped Fermanagh keeper Ronan Galllagher to dash any hopes of a Fermanagh fightback.
Mulligan added his second with six minutes remaining.
In this afternoon's other games Westmeath defeated Longford by one point in the Division 2B semi-final to win by 1-16 - 2-12 while Kildare suffered at the hands of Sligo, having been reduced to 13 men in Markievich Park, to lose by 0-12 to 1-07.
