Two women are in hospital after they were attacked on Clare Street shortly before 11 last night.

Two women are in hospital after they were attacked on Clare Street shortly before 11 last night.

The women, both Welsh, were returning to their hotel with their husbands when, in an unprovoked attack, a man knocked them to the ground and kicked and punched them.

The women, one in her forties and the other in her sixties, are believed to have suffered serious facial injuries

The attacker has been described as large bald man - about six foot, three inches to six foot five inches in height - and wearing a three-quarter-length leather jacket.
