Gardaí in Limerick are questioning a man and a woman about the murder of a doorman in the city last November.

Brian Fitzgerald was shot dead near his home in Corbally, and it is believed he was killed because he refused to co-operate with drug dealers who wanted to sell drugs in the nightclub where he worked.

Last night gardaí arrested two men and two women in connection with the killing. A man and a woman were held at Henry Street Garda Station; the other two were detained at Mayorstone Garda Station.

All four were detained under Section 30 Offences Against The State Act. The two detained at Henry Street were released without charge.
