A total of €48.031 million has so far been collected as a result of investigations arising from the beef tribunal, the Moriarty tribunal and the Flood/Mahon tribunal.
The Minister for Finance, Mr McCreevy, told Fianna Fáil TD, Mr John McGuinness, in a written reply, that the Revenue Commissioners and the Criminal Assets Bureau had so far recovered 35.715 million "related to underpayments of tax" as a result of investigations of issues from the Flood/Mahon tribunal.
The figure for the Moriarty tribunal was €6.910 million and €5.406 million from the beef tribunal of the early 1990s.
• The Department of Health does not "routinely collect" information about the costs incurred in providing cigarettes to psychiatric patients, according to the Minister for Health, Mr Martin.
The Minister was replying to a written question from the Green Party TD, Mr Ciarán Cuffe, about the latest available costs for such provision of cigarettes.
