Three people died over the weekend as a result of road accidents. A 26-year-old man died after his motorcycle was in collision with a car at Mitchelstown, Athboy, Co Meath, on Saturday evening. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The car-driver and another motorcyclist were treated in Navan Hospital for minor injuries. Gardaí at Kells are investigating.

An 18-year-old woman passenger was killed in a collision in Castlebar, Co Mayo. The accident happened at Creevagh, Ballyheane, on Saturday evening. The woman died after being taken to Mayo General Hospital.

An 11-month-old baby girl died on Saturday following an accident last Wednesday in Co Clare.

A car and a tractor trailer unit collided at 7.45 p.m. at Shanaway, Miltown Malbay. The infant was in a child seat in the rear of the car when it was in collision with a tractor trailer unit.

She was taken to Cork University Hospital where she died on Saturday morning.

Meanwhile, a man killed in a three-car crash on the N4 at Crossanstown near Kinnegad on Friday has been named as Mr John Doran.

Mr Doran (38), from Lissnamuck, Co Longford, was a street entertainer in Galway and worked under the name "Johnny Massacre". There were floral tributes at the weekend in Shop Street where he frequently worked.
