Three people have been charged in connection with the collapse of a murder trial in Dublin last week.
The Director of Public Prosecutions acted to abandon the case against Mr Liam Keane when a succession of witnesses said they were unable to recall statements they earlier made to police.
At a special sitting of Limerick District Court today, Mr Roy Behan, in his 20s from Limerick, and Ms Amanda McNamara, also in her 20s from Limerick, were charged with perjury. Mr David Murphy (19), from Limeric, was charged with contempt of court for refusing to give evidence at the trial.
They were remanded on bail to appear in court on Tuesday next.
The three were arrested yesterday morning. Files in relation to the four other people arrested yesterday are to be forwarded to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
