As many as 30,000 Thai Muslims are expected to join a rally in Bangkok against US-led strikes on Afghanistan this weekend, organisers said today.
A meeting of Asian Muslim non-governmental organisations and scholars has also been organised for Saturday.
Predominantly Buddhist Thailand is not directly involved in the US-led attacks on Afghanistan, but Bangkok has allowed US aircraft involved in the airstrikes to use one of its bases.
The country's roughly six million Muslims - out of a total population of 62 million - are unhappy with the government's stance and have called for a review of the policy.
Some 30,000 people gathered in the south of the country last month to protest against the strikes on Afghanistan as Islamic leaders urged a boycott of US goods and those from its allies.
Also some 300,000 Buddhist monks and devotees gathered at 32,000 temples across the country to pray for world peace.
