A 19-year-old man is being treated for serious injuries to his feet after being abducted from a Co Tyrone street by an armed gang and shot twice, it was revealed today.
The teenager was on the outskirts of Stewartstown with his girlfriend last night when he was abducted.
Police said the couple were walking past a parked white van when up to eight men wearing balaclavas jumped out and bundled the youth into the vehicle.
The van drove through the village and stopped on the other side where the teenager was pushed out, ordered to lie still on the ground and shot in both ankles.

Police said he was being treated in hospital for bullet wounds and multiple fractures to his feet caused by the bullets.
