Syria is planning to ask the United Nations Security Council to hold a special session to discuss this morning's attack by Israeli warplanes on an alleged Palestiniantraining camp near Damascus.

A diplomatic source said: "They want the Security Council to hold a session to discussthe attack."

"I think they will make anofficial complaint," he said.

Syrian officials did not have an immediate comment. Israelisecurity sources and Palestinian sources in Beirut said Israeliwarplanes carried out an attack near Damascus earlier on Sundayafter a suicide bomber killed 19 people in an Israeli restauranton Saturday.
