Media group Scottish Radio Holdings said today that the outlook for the advertising market was encouraging.
In its final trading update before its annual full results due in for Novemeber, the company, which owns Today FM and a string of local newspapers in Ireland, said it viewed current prospects with confidence and that press revenues are estimated to be 18 per cent ahead of last year.
SRH operates 21 wholly owned and two partly owned radio services across Britain and Ireland. Radio advertising revenues for the 12 months to September 30th are expected to be 6 per cent up on last year.
Advertising and circulation revenues in the newspaper division are expected to show increases of 5 per cent and 2 per cent respectively with an increase in other revenues (mainly from printing contracts) of 3 per cent.
