There were commemorative services throughout the country on Saturday to remember the victims of the Omagh bombing. In Belfast there were more than 20. Thousands of Saturday shoppers observe a minute's silence at the City Hall while others attended a special service at St Anne's Cathedral.

In Derry more than 10,000 people attended an Act of Reflection and Prayer in Guildhall Square.

An Ecumenical Service was held in St John's Catholic Cathedral in Limerick on Saturday for the Omagh bomb victims. Over 1,000 people attended a peace rally in the centre of Tullamore on Saturday organised by the local churches, while in Athlone on Saturday there were a number of ceremonies marking the Omagh atrocity in the town's churches. All the town's Christian denominations were represented at an inter-denominational service in St Mary's Catholic Church.

In Cork there was an inter-church Remembrance Service on the steps of the City Hall attended by about 1,000 people.
