A separatist group has claimed responsibility for weekend bombings on the French-ruled Mediterranean island of Corsica and the southern Riviera city of Nice.

An anonymous caller to a local media outlet on the island claimed responsibility in the name of a group called the FLNC for the bombing of an office at an airport on Corsica and an earlier blast at government offices in Nice that injured 16.

"The perpetrators will be tracked down . . . and they will be punished," Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy said in an interview today.
