Garda divers will this morning join the search for a man (32) washed off the rocks on Saturday at Brandon Creek, Ballydavid, on the Dingle peninsula.
The man, from Blarney, Co Cork, was among a group fishing from a cliff when he was swept away by a huge wave.
Two boats in the area at the time rushed to the scene. The Valentia Coastguard called the Sikorsky rescue helicopter from Shannon along with the Fenit lifeboat and the Dingle coastguard search unit.
The coastguard searched the sea and coastline along the peninsula. Their search resumed early yesterday, as had that of the Fenit lifeboat.
