A massive search continued last night for a county Limerick pensioner who was last seen two days ago.
The Garda helicopter along with a team of more than 100 gardaí spent last night searching for 80-year-old Mrs Nora King from Monagea in Co Limerick.
The widowed mother of seven was last seen at 9.30 a.m. on Thursday morning.
Described as a "very agile" woman she was travelling by bicycle to visit a relative in nearby Rathcahill.
However, at 2.30 p.m. on Thursday afternoon her bicycle was found in a ditch just a few miles from her home.
According to gardaí Mrs King never reached her relatives' house in Rathcahill.
"We have established that she didn't arrive at her destination and after finding her bicycle her family got worried and raised the alarm," said a Garda spokeswoman.
"She is a very agile woman and does a lot of walking and cycling and would be very well known locally," she added.
A relative of the missing pensioner said yesterday that she had been suffering from slight memory loss lately and her family are very concerned for her safety.
A helicopter from Valentia Coast Guard also joined the search party yesterday.
Gardaí from nearby Abbeyfeale are assisting gardaí in Newcastlewest with the search.
When last seen Mrs King was wearing a black and white full length coat, a black skirt and tan coloured shoes.
She is described as 5ft, 3in tall and has long grey curly hair.
Anyone with any information about her whereabouts is asked to contact the gardaí at Newcastlewest on (069) 62111.
