The two clubs will meet at Hampden Park if they finish the season tied on points, goal difference and goals scored.

That seemed a remote possibility at the start of the season but with the title race guaranteed to go to the wire it could now happen.

Celtic are three points ahead and have a better goal difference of two. They have also scored one more goal but Rangers have a game in hand, at Hearts on Sunday.

The Hampden Park play-off would kick-off at 7.45pm and be decided by extra time and penalty kicks if required.

Celtic and Rangers finish their league campaign on May 25th with games away to Kilmarnock and at home to Dunfermline respectively.
