Ryanair has stepped up its price war battle with rival Lufthansa.
It has slashed 30 per cent from fares between its new continental European base - Frankfurt Hahn airport - to Stansted, Glasgow and Shannon.
Lufthansa, the German national carrier, fly from the Frankfurt Main airport 60 miles away, and last week the airline obtained a court injunction in Cologne to stop Ryanair using comparative advertising in the German market.
Ryanair chief executive Mr Michael O'Leary insisted he would appeal against the ruling. "We are confident that once the details have been explained to an German courts, Lufthansa's injunction will be lifted."
And he said Ryanair advertising would be continued, making it clear that Lufthansa flew from Frankfurt Main and Ryanair from Frankfurt Hahn - and that both were internationally-recognised airports.
"Ryanair will not be forced out of Germany by Lufthansa's dirty tricks. Lufthansa cannot beat Ryanair's fares and cannot beat Ryanair in court," Mr O'Leary said.
Unlike most other airlines, Ryanair has reported buoyant business since the September 11th terrorist attacks on New York and Washington.
