Shelbourne have steadied the ship, after their potentially disastrous two nil defeat to Shamrock Rovers last Friday, with a convincing 3-1 win over Waterford United.

Jamie Harris got Pat Fenlon's side on their way after just 13 minutes before Wes Hoolahan doubled the lead in the 38th minute.

Two goals in five second half minutes completed the scoring. Waterford defender David Mulcahy added a third for Rovers when he deflected into his own net before Alan Reilly grabbed a consolation from the penalty spot four minutes later.

Meanwhile Cork City moved into second place with two nil win over St Patrick's Athletic at Richmond Park. George O'Callaghan and Horgan got the goals for Cork.
