Some 40 householders in north Mayo with evacuation warnings on their homes since landslides on September 19th will today get a briefing on any further risks to their dwellings.
A scientific assessment report on Dooncartin mountain is expected to recommend that some residents can return, although some houses remain at risk.
Two teams of geologists have been monitoring ground conditions on the mountain since the landslides caused severe structural damage to roads, houses, cemeteries and local amenities in the villages of Pollathomas, Glengad, Barr na Cuille and Cornhill.
