Researchers at University College Cork have appealed for information on Irish people ought in the second World War. The Volunteers Project is compiling an oral history of the Irish contribution.
According to the group's director, Dr Geoffrey Roberts, the contribution of Irish volunteers to the second World War has been ignored by historians.
Dr Roberts said he was appealing to veterans willing to be interviewed to contact the project at The Volunteers Project, 36 Mary Street, Cork, or Tina Neylon on 021-812-555.
