Liverpool's Stamford Bridge bogey struck again today as Chelsea ended their 12-match unbeaten premier league run with a crushing 4-0 victory.

Goals by Graeme Le Saux, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, Sam Dalla Bona and Eidur Gudjohnsen, together with a penalty stop and several other good saves by impressive goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini, secured Chelsea's emphatic victory.

Premier league leaders Liverpool had won only twice at Stamford Bridge in 25 years and though they played well for long periods on Sunday they missed the finishing skills of Michael Owen, out with a hamstring injury.

The result left Liverpool top on 33 points, three clear of Arsenal and Newcastle United. Leeds United, who drew 2-2 at home with Leicester City earlier today, are fourth on 29 with champions Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur all on 27.
