Rain forced PGA Tour officials to postpone the third round at the Kemper Open by a day with South Africa's Rory Sabbatini leading from Friday with an eight-under-par total of 134.
After firing a 62 in the second round, 2001 British Open champion David Duval had jumped into a tie for second on 136 with Sweden's Niclas Fasth, Notah Begay III and Tom Gillis.
The fourth and final round will be played on Monday. The Potomac area has seen rain on 28 of the last 38 days.
The tour had scheduled early times on Saturday hoping to play most of the third round before the predicted rain began, but it arrived early in the morning and no players teed off.
The decision to play the final round on Monday could cause problems for some players headed to the U.S. Open near Chicago, although none has yet withdrawn.
Two players ranked among the top 10 in the world, number three Davis Love III and number seven Padraig Harrington of Ireland survived the cut.
Love trails Sabbatini by seven shots while Harrington is six back. World number six Phil Mickelson missed the cut by one shot.
Tournament director Mark Russell said: "We're going to schedule 18 holes tomorrow, starting at 10.45 to 12.45. We've got a good forecast for tomorrow. We've got a good forecast on Monday.
