An Post is investigating how polling cards were attached to Workers' Party election literature delivered to some houses in Cork city yesterday.
In a statement, An Post said it was investigating the incident, and while it was normal for polling cards and election literature to be delivered at the same time, they should not be attached together in any way.
"The postal manifestos for all our candidates were labelled by a contractor on behalf of An Post before being sent centrally to An Post in Dublin for delivery for the individual constituencies, including Cork North Central," said Mr John Jefferies, the Workers' Party election director in Cork North Central. "What An Post does with it after that is outside our control."
