Sentencing in the case of a Limerick woman (37) charged with illegally chartering planes to bring Munster rugby fans to European matches was further adjourned today after a judge was told she was unfit to attend court.

Pamela Hickey of Ashford Patrickswell, Co Limerick, pleaded guilty at Limerick Circuit Court earlier this year to three separate charges.

Two of the charges relate to allegations of chartering the services of Monarch Airlines by deception.

It is alleged the offences took place in December 2004 and January 2005 in relation to two return flights from Shannon airport to Gatwick.

Ms Hickey has pleaded guilty to a third charge of forgery at Ashford, Patrickswell, on January 14th, 2005, contrary to the Criminal Justice and Theft Act.

When the case was called today the accused woman’s defence counsel, Brian McInerney, informed Judge Carroll Moran that his client was advised by her medical adviser not to attend court.

Mr McInerney presented a medical cert to the court and sought that the case be adjourned until next year.

Judge Moran agreed to the request and adjourned the matter back until May 17th next.
