At least one person has been wounded after a car bomb went off near a United Nations office in the southern Afghan city of Kandahar, witnesses and UN sources said.
A UN source said one person was hurt slightly in the explosion, which took place at around 4 p.m. (11.30 am Irish time) on Tuesday outside a building belonging to the UN Assistance Mission to Afghanistan (UNAMA).
But Afghan witnesses in Kandahar said one person was killed and two were injured in the explosion, adding that UNAMA staff did not appear to be among the casualties.
