Fifteen of the Omagh bomb victims will be buried today in Buncrana, Co Donegal, Omagh and other parts of Co Tyrone following services in Catholic, Church of Ireland, Methodist and Presbyterian churches.
The Bishop of Derry, Dr Seamus Hegarty, will preside at the funerals of the three Buncrana boys, Oran Doherty (8), Sean McLaughlin (12) and James Barker (12), this morning. The funeral service will take place at St Mary's Church, Cockhill, Buncrana.
The former bishop of Derry, Dr Edward Daly, will officiate at the funeral of 20-month-old Breda Devine at St Mary's Church, Aughabrack, Donemana, Co Tyrone. The auxiliary Bishop of Derry, Dr Francis Lagan, will preside at the midday funeral of Mr Aidan Gallagher (21) at St Mary's Church, Knockmoyle, Omagh, and the 3 p.m. funeral of Philomena Skelton (39) at St Patrick's Church, Drumquin.
Brenda Logue (17) will be buried after 11 a.m. Mass at St Mary's Church, Omagh, while Jolene Marlow (17) will be buried after 11 a.m. Mass at St Patrick's Church, Eskra, Co Tyrone. Lorraine Wilson (15) will be buried after 2.30 p.m. Mass in Cappagh Church, Omagh. The funeral of Mrs Mary Grimes (65) takes place today in the village of Beragh, Co Tyrone. Ms Veda Short (56) will be buried after a 2.30 p.m. service at Seskinore Presbyterian Church.
The funeral service for Ms Olive Hawkes (60) will take place from Mayne Methodist Church to Cappagh Church graveyard. Mr Fred White (60) and his son, Brian (26), will be buried at Old Drumrah burial ground after a 3.15 p.m. service at Creevan Presbyterian Church. Alan Radford (16) will be buried at Greenhill cemetery in Omagh after a service at his home.
The funerals of seven more victims - Ms Geraldine Breslin, Ms Debra-Anne Cartwright (20), Samantha McFarland (17), Ms Julia Hughes (21), Mr Brian McCrory (54), Ms Elizabeth Rush (57) and Ms Ann McCombe (49) - will take place tomorrow. No details were available last night about the funerals of Ms Esther Gibson (36) and Mr Gareth Conway (18). Ms Rocio Abad (24) and Fernando Blasco (12) will be buried in their native Spain.
