Dubliner Fergal O'Brien is tonight preparing for a second day of battle with Jimmy White, after the pair drew the opening day of their third round UK Championship match 4-4 at the Barbican Centre in York.
The day's play seesawed over a thrilling first eight frames, with world number 33 O'Brien winning the last frame of the day to level affairs.
Elsewhere, Paul Hunter showed his star quality with Mark King poised to remove another of the title favourites from the Travis Perkins UK Championship in York tonight.
With four of the world's top eight already out Hunter could have gone the same way as King recovered from 7-4 down to force a deciding frame.
However, the Leeds professional came good to take the match 9-8 and secure a quarter-final against Matthew Stevens or James Wattana.
Joe Perry and Nigel Bond have resumed their 4-4 match at, while the third round clash between Mark Stevens and James Wattana is also under way.
