Coach Nils Johan Semb has named eight Premierhsip players in his Norway squad for next week's friendly international against the Republic of Ireland at Lansdowne Road.

Manchester United hitman Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is expected to lead the Scandinavians' attack this day week while Liverpool star John Arne Riise and Leeds United's Eirik Bakke are also likely to feature.

Ireland boss Brian Kerr will need his defenders to be at their best to keep John Carew at bay. The powerfully built striker missed out on a Champions League semi-final spot when his club, Valencia, went out on the away goals rule to Inter Milan last night, and he will surely be seeking compensation for that loss.
