Johnny Murtagh's appeal against a seven-day suspension which rules him out of Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe at Longchamp will be heard by the Irish Turf Club's Appeals and Referrals Committee next Tuesday.

He was handed the ban, that runs from next Wednesday to October 7th inclusive, for making insufficient effort on Edward Lynam's newcomer Dangle in the EMS Civil Engineering EBF Maiden at the Curragh on Sunday.

Lynam, whose stables are in Cloncilla, Co Dublin, was fined €750 for using the racecourse as a training ground. His appeal will also be considered at the Curragh hearing.

Dangle was beaten just under two lengths in fifth place by the Aidan O'Brien-trained winner Amalie Bay, the even-money favourite. The two-year-old filly, who was making her debut, was banned from running for 42 days.
