Three men have been killed in two car crashes as heavy overnight rain made driving conditions hazardous.
Two men died in a crash near Cloverhill, Co Cavan, when their car apparently lost control and crashed into a ditch on the Cavan-to-Clones Road.
Both men were taken to Cavan General Hospital though they have not yet been formally identified.
In Co Mayo, a middle-aged man was killed when the car he was driving hit a wall near Ballinrobe this morning.
