The volume of industrial production in the manufacturing sector for the three months to the end of January was up by 7.2 per cent, according to the CSO.
The CSO published the seasonally adjusted industrial production figures for the period November 2005 to January 2006 today.
It said production on an annual basis for all industries in January was 10 per cent higher than in January 2005. The hi-tech and chemical sectors showed an annual increase of 12.7 per cent, while the more traditional sectors recorded a rise of 4 per cent.
Seasonally adjusted turnover for manufacturing industries was also up by 8 per cent in the three-month period November 2005 to January 2006 when compared with the previous three months.
