A man (19) has been charged with attempted murder and assault charges following an attack on a couple in Belfast last weekend.
Mr Thomas Joseph Marley, from Brookhill Avenue, Belfast, was charged with attempting to murder Mr Eamon Stewart and assaulting Ms Sinead Tierney.
Mr Stewart was stabbed in the chest and suffered head wounds and six broken ribs. The top of his right ear was also bitten off. His girlfriend suffered a head injury.
Belfast Magistrates Court was told Mr Marley made no reply to the charges and he was remanded in custody until September 9th.
