A man in his 20s was in custody in Limerick last night as part of the ongoing Garda investigation into the kidnapping of a young man in the city last weekend.
The 22-year-old is the second person to be arrested in relation to the incident. A 15-year-old boy who cannot be identified appeared before Limerick District Court this week charged with the false imprisonment of 19-year-old Stephen Cusack between August 19th and August 20th last at Caisleán na hAbhann, Castletroy, Limerick.
He was granted bail on strict conditions and is due to appear before the same court again on October 23rd next.
Yesterday’s arrest was made shortly before 8am at an address in Limerick city. The suspect was brought to Henry Street Garda station and was being held last night under section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, which means he can be detained for questioning for up to seven days.
