Maccabi Haifa coach Ronnie Levyand two other senior club officials were wounded in the attackon a restaurant in the city that claimed the lives of as many as18 Israelis today, according to reports.
The reports quoted Haifa captain Arik Benado as saying thatLevy, club manager Itamar Chizik and technical manager ArieBorenstein were wounded in the explosion. Benado was said to beat a city hospital together with his club colleagues.
The Maxim Restaurant at a service station on the southernoutskirts of the city just off the main highway to Tel Aviv is awell-known meeting point for Maccabi Haifa club officials andplayers.
According to the reports, Haifa striker Yaniv Katan waswalking from his car to enter the restaurant when the explosionoccurred.
