England coach Clive Woodward has been forced to make a late change to his bench for tomorrow's World Cup quarter-final against Wales, calling up Dan Luger to replace the unlucky Iain Balshaw.

Balshaw was outstanding in last week's 111-13 win over Uruguay before going off with a sprained ankle early in the second half but it is a knee problem that forced him out this time.

"Iain Balshaw is not quite right, his ankle is fine but his knee is a bit sore," Woodward said today. "Dan Luger comes in he's 100 percent fit. I just don't want to go into this game unless everyone is right.

Woodward also said that flanker Richard Hill, not involved in this weekend's squad because of a troublesome hamstring injury, was finally making good progress.

"He will be fit to play for someone next weekend, either us or his club in London, depending on what we do tomorrow," Woodward said.
