Demand for rail tickets over the All Ireland hurling final weekend is expected to exceed supply, and many trains will require a control card, Iarnród Éireann has advised.
The match between Cork and Kilkenny on Sunday, September 14th, means that many trains from Cork and Kerry to Dublin and the return journeys over the three days of Friday, Saturday and Sunday will be "controlled", and passengers will be issued with rail tickets and control cards on a first-come-first-served basis.
A new special telephone ticket line has been set up by Iarnród Éireann to sell seats to GAA fans for the special trains from Cork, Mallow and Charleville to Dublin Connolly Station on Sunday, September 14th for the final.
The special telephone ticket line number is (021) 4557242.
Tickets for the special trains will go on sale through this special line at 6 p.m. this Monday, September 8th.
GAA fans will be limited to two tickets per person or per call.
The telephone line will take credit card and cash bookings.
In addition, Iarnród Éireann is offering seats on its luxury executive train to Dublin for the All Ireland hurling final.
The return trip between Cork or Mallow and Dublin, including full Irish breakfast on outward journey, transfers from the station to Croke Park, evening meal on the return journey, costs €185 per person.
