A Limerick man who has been on the run since escaping from custody a year and a half ago has been extradited from Britain.
The man in his 30s, who fled from a prison van in Limerick city centre, is due to appear before Limerick District Court later today where he faces charges connected to attacks on prison officers.
He was flown to Cork airport last night and is being held at Henry Street Garda Station.
It is understood the man has just completed a short prison sentence in England.
