The meeting in Dublin will be chaired by Mr Justice Peter Kelly, who last week got a promise of extra residential places from the Department of Health and Children. It will be addressed by Mr Justice Robert Barr, who will speak on "Justice for Young Offenders in a Caring Society".
The meeting is organised by the Lillie Road Centre Group of Homes. It has three children's homes in London and is in the process of setting up a home in Edenderry, Co Offaly. Its patron is Cardinal Basil Hume and its director is Father Ken McCabe.
Next Monday's meeting is one of a series of millennium lectures organised by the group in Dublin and London. Other speakers at the meeting, at the Bank of Ireland Arts Centre in Foster Place, include Mr John Lonergan, governor of Mountjoy Prison, consultant clinical psychologist Dr Tony Humphreys and Sister Stanislaus Kennedy.
