An Irishman is recovering in hospital in Spain after being injured in a shooting in Torremolinos on the Costa del Sol.
The injured man is from Dublin’s north inner city and had been shot at in Dublin in recent years. Police in Spain are investigating the latest gun attack, which occurred in a bar on Saturday night.
The injured man is aged 27 years and he is known to gardaí. The Spanish police have contacted gardaí in Dublin as part of their investigation.
While a number of Irish men have been either injured or killed in so-called gangland attacks in Spain in recent years, the man wounded in the latest incident would not be regarded by gardaí as a major figure on the Dublin crime scene.
