On a hugely successful morning for Irish rowing in Milan, two boats have qualified not only for the World Championships finals but also for next year's Olympics in Athens.
Needing to finish in the top two of their semi-final to progress, the lightweight double scull of Sam Lynch and Gearóid Towey came home first to book their place in Sunday's final.
In doing so, they also met the Olympic qualifying standard and confirmed their status as genuine medal hopes.
Less than fifteen minutes earlier, the lightweight four, put together less than a month ago to qualify a boat for Athens, continued their fine form in the Italian sunshine to win their semi-final and guarantee their tickets to Greece next summer.
The young Irish quartet, comprising three Munstermen and one from Ulster, claimed their second win of the week after leading from start to finish.
However, there was disappointment for the lightweight single scullers, Heather Boyle and Brian Young, who both failed to make the A finals.
