The annual rate of inflation fell in October from 4.6 per cent to 4.3 per cent, according to data released today by the Central Statistics Office.
The most notable changes in the year were increases in the price of housing (8.8 per cent), services (1.4 per cent).
Clothing and footwear fell by 2.9 per cent over the year, and fuel and light fell 2.3 per cent due to falling oil prices.
The largest fall in the Consumer Price Index for October was in the price of housing, which fell 2.9 per cent.
