A new all-island €13.6 million scheme called FUSION is to be provided by InterTrade Ireland, the cross-border trade and business development body.
This will create 130 technology transfer partnerships to assist the commercialisation of research over the next four years.
FUSION will develop and support three-way partnerships between firms with specific technology needs, research centres with specialist expertise and high-calibre science and technology graduates.
Fifty-seven partnerships have already been formed as part of a pilot scheme, which so far has generated €5.6 million of benefits for the companies involved.
