Indonesia has announced it will extend a state of martial law in war-torn Aceh province by a further six months.
The extension announcement came after security forces conceded they would not meet an initial deadline to overcome rebels.
Jakarta put Aceh, on the northern tip of Sumatra island,under martial law on May 19th and began a huge offensive tocrush Free Aceh Movement rebels within six months.
