Liverpool manager Gerard Houllier is hoping to return to work at the English premier league club by the end of January or early February
Appearing by satellite link on BBC Television's Sports Personality of the Year programme today, Houllier said: "The doctors have told me to take it easy but I am feeling better all the time."
Houllier underwent emergency heart surgery on October 13 after suffering chest pains during Liverpool's premier league match against Leeds United.
Reports last week suggested he could be fit to return to work in early January, but it now seems likely to be a little later.
In his absence, Liverpool have climbed to the top of the premier league table under the guidance of caretaker manager Phil Thompson. -AFP
