Ex-Sauber driver Nick Heidfeld has provisionally signed with Jordan to race in the 2004 season.
The 26-year-old German has agreed to take a pay cut for the coming season, and will begin testing with Eddie Jordan's Ford-powered team in Barcelona this Wednesday.
Financial concerns about Jordan's operations persist; with the new season is only three months away, Eddie Jordan has yet to announce a finalised budget for the team.
Details of Heidfeld's wage agreement have not been released. The driver earned an estimated €4.5m a year with Sauber.
